Calling all enrolled college students with an interest in the literary arts and community non-profit organizations: Gemini Ink, San Antonio’s literary arts center, has openings for internships in four areas. We offer rewarding opportunities for growing your skills, networking, and participating in free creative writing classes.
Gemini Ink interns support, implement and promote the organization’s literary education programs, class sessions, special events and outreach projects in the community.

All internships offer a flexible schedule of 10-15 hours per week. Internships are unpaid.

Communications/Special Events Intern
Job Description: Assist in promoting and marketing Gemini Ink’s events and classes; performing general office support such as filing, clipping and organizing news items; updating online calendars; researching media placement opportunities; pitching media stories; documenting Gemini Ink events and classes, as needed; distributing flyers and working as part of the staff team for special events.
Qualifications: Experience with MS Office Suite programs are needed. Excellent grammar and writing skills required. College-level classes in communications/public relations and knowledge of database management, and Constant Contact are a plus.
Majors: Marketing/PR, English, Education or related.

Duties include: Assist in maintaining paper and electronic grant files; assist with assembling and delivering grant application packages and reports; research potential funding sources; work as part of the staff team for special events.
Qualifications: S/he should possess extremely strong writing and organizational skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Passionate interest in writing and commitment to community service a plus. Excellent grammar and writing skills required.

Job Description: Assist in coordinating various aspects of Gemini Ink classes and events, such as gathering appropriate supplies, etc; provide general office support, provide in-town transportation for out-of-town faculty, act as class proctor (attend class as a representative of Gemini Ink), research and recommend potential faculty, and work as part of the staff team for special events. Interns who demonstrate excellence will be given additional assignments that will boost their portfolio or resume.
Qualifications: Excellent grammar, writing and editing skills are required. Proficiency with MAC and/or PC, knowledge of MS Office. Candidate should have a passion for the literary arts as well as a strong interest and background in at least one of the following areas: project planning, education, research, evaluation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
