Kenny Fries is the author of In the Province of the Gods (2017) and Body, Remember (both from University of Wisconsin Press), among other acclaimed memoirs. He edited Staring Back: The Disability Experience from the Inside Out (Plume), and his most recent book of poems is In the Gardens of Japan (2017). He received the Creative Capital literature grant, the Creative Arts Fellowship from the Japan/US Friendship Commission and the NationalEndowment for the Arts, and two Fulbrights (Japan and Germany).
