This 4-week workshop takes place Tues, Oct 10, 17, 24, Nov 7.

Whether we’re experienced poets or new to the making of poems, finding sources for new work can be elusive. In this four-week workshop, participants will gain support and strategies for taking a distinct focused approach to generating poems. Allow a work of art to jump-start your writing, delve into writing in persona, and explore other groundbreaking ways into your poetry-making process. Participants will take away a sheaf of new poems and fresh pathways for generating work.

Pablo Miguel Martínez’s collection of poems, Brazos, Carry Me, received the 2013 PEN Southwest Book Award for Poetry and his chapbook, Cuent@, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2015. Martínez’s literary work has received support from the Alfredo Cisneros Del Moral Foundation and the Artist Foundation of San Antonio and has been the recipient of numerous honors, including the Oscar Wilde Award and Chicano/Latino Literary Prize. Martínez is a co-founder of CantoMundo, a national retreat-workshop for Latina/o poets.
