Sarah Colby was born in northern New Mexico and raised in the Rocky Mountains. She is married to an active-duty Chaplain in the U.S Army and mother to a son in the Navy. Her wartime experiences have motivated her to be a voice for the mostly untold stories of families and loved ones during these years of protracted conflict, and to encourage others to share their experiences. Sarah holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Sierra Nevada College.  She has been an area representative of the North Carolina Writers Network, mentor of the Sandhills Salon writer’s group, and active in several other writer’s groups and collaborative projects.
