A Voice Comes from Somewhere – Exploring Place in Poetry A Workshop in Celebration of National Poetry Month

April 4 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$135

From urban to suburban to rural landscapes, the location a person writes about can tell a lot about the writer. This poetry workshop centers on the poetry of place. Through a series of writing exercises and dialogue, participants will craft and share work that reexamines the places they’re from or where they currently reside, the writer’s relationships to said places, and how those places have influenced and continue to influence their voice and narratives.

Christopher “Rooster” Martinez is a writer and spoken word poet from San Antonio, Texas. He earned an MA/MFA in Creative Writing, Literature & Social Justice at Our Lady of the Lake University. His work appeared in such publications as The Huffington Post Latino Voices, Pittsburgh Poetry Review, and Pilgrimage Press.

This workshop takes place on Thursdays, April 4, 11, 18, & 25

Non-member $135; Member $115
