Nights of Neo-Noir–Devil in a Blue Dress by Walter Mosley

Los Angeles, 1948: Easy Rawlins is a black war veteran just fired from his job at a defense plant. Easy is drinking in a friend’s bar, wondering how he’ll meet his mortgage, when a white man in a linen suit walks in, offering good money if Easy will simply locate Miss Daphne Money, a blonde beauty known to frequent black jazz clubs.

William Glenn 2Glenn co-founded the bilingual literary/cultural journalTerra Incognita and is author of A Brief Guide to American Poetry (Premier Poets Chapbook Series). Recent publications include two poems in AMP: Journal of Digital Literature. He co-leads Gemini Ink’s Nights of Noir series and works at the University of Texas at the San Antonio Libraries.

Early in life, Diaz was drawn to noir novels that exposed the underside of humanity and celebrated the poetry of the downtrodden. He co-leads Gemini Ink’s Nights of Noir reading program and is working on a book set in his hometown, Carrizo Springs. He received a BA in Anthropology and an MA in Bicultural-Bilingual Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
