“That’s How I Remember It”: Telling Your Story in Nonfiction

April 4 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$125

In this class taught by a master craftsman of both memoir and fiction, you’ll learn how to use the crucial narrative elements of fiction in your nonfiction work. The class will examine the different strategies and structures used to write these “memoirs,” and look closely at how scene, dialogue, memory, arc, and voice can converge in writing nonfiction for book-length or magazine work.

Rus Bradburd’s most recent book is All the Dreams We’ve Dreamed: A Story of Hoops and Handguns on Chicago’s West Side. He is the author of Forty Minutes of Hell, Paddy on the Hardwood, and Make It, Take It. His essays have appeared in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, El Paso Times, and Houston Chronicle.
