Writing into the Mystery: Lessons in Craft Inspired by Your Favorite Detectives

February 4

$175

ONLINE WORKSHOP

In this workshop, open to all genres, we’ll embrace investigative methods in order to tap into the deep mysteries at the heart of all good writing. Using prompts inspired by Lynda Barry, Virginia Woolf, Jeanette Winterson, and Agatha Christie herself, students will generate new writing in their chosen genre. A supportive online workshop structure will offer participants helpful feedback to make the writing process feel more like a thrilling chase and less like a case that’s gone cold.

Brittani Sonnenberg’s fiction has appeared in Ploughshares, the O’Henry Prize Stories, Hong Kong Noir, and elsewhere. Her novel, Home Leave, was selected as a New York Times Editor’s Pick. Her nonfiction and poetry have appeared in Time Magazine, Tin House Online, NPR, Austin Monthly, The Visual Poetry Project, and Conflict of Interest.

Begins February 4, Four Weeks. Online.
