This past fall, our teaching artists Daniel Ramirez and Asia Cofield lead 3rd graders through ten sessions on creative self expression and language skills at Essence Prep Academy. These students crafted their own creative pieces inspired by the theme of “The Community Table.”
Many students wrote about what they would bring to a communal picnic, whether it’s UNO cards or fruit candies. In The Community Table you will also find poems about recipes for good days, best friends, weekends, and more.
