Need guidance beginning that book project you’ve been thinking about for months or years? Look no further! Join Wondra Chang on a four-week journey through the book writing process.

Week by week, we will delve into everything from your character’s emotional patterns and actions, to debunking writing rules you’ve been told to follow. You will also receive tools and advice that minimize writer’s block and energize your creative process.

You will leave this class with characters who come alive and move the story, a synopsis, title, and opening paragraph to your novel or memoir, and confidence that your story is worth telling.

Topics you will explore in this class include:

  • Week 1:  How to think about your story: Why is it important to tell? What is your story about?
  • Week 2:  How to Make Your Story Come Together with memorable events and characters
  • Week 3:  Getting inside your character through description, character histories, dialogue, and more
  • Week 4:  Building the story: outlines, diagrams, and beginning the beginning

Wondra Chang is the author of the National Book Award-nominated historical novel, SONJU. It received a starred review from Kirkus Reviews and is one of its 100 best indie books of 2021. She was in the author lineup at the 2022 San Antonio Book Festival. She lives in San Antonio, Texas.
