The writing you will find in “Out of Reach and In My Hand” was crafted in two workshops: one taught by Erica DeLaRosa at the Cyndi Taylor Krier Juvenile Correctional Treatment Center and the other by Daniel Ramirez at the Juvenile Justice Academy.
Erica DeLaRosa taught a poetry workshop that inspired students to write about their relationship to the world. Daniel Ramirez taught two fiction workshops, “Outcasts & Wits: Trickster Tales” in the fall and “Mythical Creatures of Global Folklore.” Students wrote mythological stories based on their own lived experiences.
