Do you have a favorite place to write?

My school campus has a spot that overlooks the San Antonio skyline. I love to write there if I have a few minutes between classes or when the sun sets.

What are your habits or routines before writing?

I don’t have any set writing routines. I just write whenever I feel inspired.

What is the one piece of writing advice that you value most?

“Write what you know.”

What is the biggest misconception about being a writer?

People often believe you have to be a published author to be a writer, but I think anyone who writes is a writer.

When writing, do you carefully plan things out, or do you prefer to just go with the flow?

I like to just start writing and see what happens! Writing for my academic classes is often very structured, so I enjoy working without confines through creative writing.

Is there any quality or element within your writing that you prioritize or always try to include?

I try to include lots of flowery language because that is what I appreciate most when reading.

Top 3 favorite writers.

André Aciman, Wendy Mass, Nina LaCour.
